I had three curiosity calls today! Three! I also talked with
about her experience with listening sessions and I asked her questions to help me better understand this work. What is this work? On a one-hour video call, I mostly listen and ask questions, and the other person mostly talks. I first explain that the purpose of the call is for me to be of service to them. There’s no pressure for it to be any particular way. I might hold space for them to talk without restraint, or we might have a back-and-forth conversation, or I might ask relevant questions. I ask them what they’re hoping to get out of the session, they tell me (not knowing is fine) and then we do it!
It feels great to hold curiosity calls. It feels ⚡️⚡️⚡️, it feels nourishing, it feels like I’m doing what I’m meant to do. It’s funny because I felt similar feelings when I made music, and then Musicollab was *crickets.* But this is different! I’m giving people a good and useful experience! The conversation is helpful to them! They are glad to spend the time with me! I will figure out a way to make it work! If you’re reading this and it’s January 2024 then I want you to reach out for a free curiosity call before I launch it as a paid service next month.
I feel honored to witness people’s minds bloom 😌
